Blood Drive Held periodically, parishioners are encouraged to share their health with others through an on-site parish donation effort. Comfort Ministry Coordinates ministry to those who suffered a loss through death, inquiring if there is anything that can be done to help. Includes initial parish response, parish communication network, like-to-like support, liturgy planning, food preparation and delivery, and hospitality. All families of the previous year's deceased are invited to attend a Mass in November in their honor. Disaster Relief Through donation drives and awareness advertising, this ministry promotes assistance to those adversely affected by the awesome forces of nature. Food Drive Several food drives are planned around the year by different parish ministries to assist those less fortunate in meeting basic food needs. These efforts support the Second Harvesters Food Bank. You are welcome to leave donations in the vestibule of the church at every opportunity. Volunteers pick up donated food from the church after Masses and deliver to the Food Bank. Food baskets are distributed by the St. Vincent de Paul Conference. Alcoholics Anonymous A meeting of this nationwide non-denomination ministry is hosted at our facilities. St. Margaret's Daughters - (St. Francis Xavier Circle) St. Margaret's Daughters is composed of women in the parish who volunteer their time to spread the teachings of the church by offering charity among parishioners and the larger community. Meetings are held five times a year the first Wednesday of the odd-numbered months. St. Vincent de Paul Conference Parishioners volunteer time to assist the needy and poor in St. Francis Xavier Parish. During Thanksgiving, this organization works with the school to provide food baskets for the needy. Reception Committee The Committee is made up of volunteers to serve on special occasions to offer hospitality, including planning, decoration, set up and clean up. Commitment varies on an as-needed basis. In the Diocese A number of ministries are available. Especially needed are those interested in working with the inner-city poor and abortion alternatives. Also, married couples are needed to share their experiences with the engaged.
